It was a dream to connect with Kathmandu to create a work inspired by scenery so close to home.

The inspiration for the installation came from a visit to Sundown National Park in 2018. At the time, a friend and I would pick a place on the map to explore for the weekend, sometimes heading four or five hours out of Brisbane. We landed on Sundown National Park and discovered smoothed, barren waterfalls flanked by towering red rock curtains of cliff face, a river to float the afternoon away in and a sky full of lights to end the day with. It’s a magical place and still one of my favourite spots in the world.
